Blog 2 - Summer Mentorship

Label:  Mentorship

          •  This is me and my mentor in his office

      • This is the door to the Trilogy Building where my mentor works

1. List the contact name, phone number, and organization of the person with whom you volunteered.
  •   My mentor's name is
                                      Eric C. Myre
                                      Senior Vice President of Investments
                                      Trilogy Financial
                                      (951) 738-1100 X 6333

2. What qualified this person as an expert in your topic choice?
  •  Eric Myre is the Senior Vice President of Investments and a Partner at Trilogy Financial Services, Inc. He has been working in the finance industry for 8 years, has a degree in business from Azusa Pacific University, and has a Series 6 - Limited Securities License, a Series 7 Stockbrokers License, a Series 63 - Uniform Securities License, and a Series 65 - Federal Advisory License.
3. List three questions for further exploration now that you've completed your summer hours.
  • What is a budget and how does it form the basis of your financial plan?
  • How can you start planning now to fund for your retirement?
  • How do you spend your money wisely during retirement?
4. What is the most important thing you gained from this experience? Why?
  • There is a lot to learn about this topic, so it is going to take time to learn. My mentor gave me a great deal of information in my meetings with him. He also gave me a book to read to help prepare me for for my next meeting with him.
5. What is your senior project topic going to be?  How did mentorship help you make your decision?  Please explain.
  • My senior project topic is, "How to become a millionaire without gambling or winning the lottery". My mentorship didn't help make my decision, since I had already made up my mind about my topic. It started when I was narrowing down my ideas of what I wanted to do and my suggested this topic. Plus, regardless of the job I will eventually get, I want to be smart with my money so I don't get into debt.
